She is called Leonara

She is so named because she looks like a Leo. Wild golden red fiery hair. And its my birthday July 31st and I am a Leo so I guess that was on my mind. Done in watercolours and watercolour crayons in my journal. Cheers Patti

A day at the beach

Spent last Monday afternoon at Island View beach. Bare feet in the sand . . . Ahhhhhh! I got the idea for my mermaid from Teesha Moore. Just used bits and bobs I found to create her. Teesha has such wonderful ideas!

Nature Girl - Sofi

Sofi was a face I did in watercolour in my journal not to long ago. I decided to use the face again and did a transfer of it on to a hunk of canvas I had prepared. I did the rest of the work in acrylics. I articulated her arms and hands so she can do stuff. I am not sure where she will go from here but I am having fun with her.

Foolsgold

I discovered this quote by Wassily Kandinsky that was borrowed by Susan Wooldridge in her new book, Foolsgold. Thanks to Teesha Moore for the recommendation, it is wonderful! I just love it! Susan is a phenomenal writer and really understands how important creativity is in every ones life. I highly recommend it.

Sweet Surrender

Lyn Avedikian sent me a funky postcard which I love. It inspired me to paint this figure. I am not sure if it is finished but when I was saw it sitting on the table with the dappled sunlight casting detailed shadows on it I couldn't resist taking the picture.

7 Random things about myself

I've been tagged by Pam to come up with 7 random things about myself. I don't know why but this seemed like a big task. Just 7 random things. Hmmmmm. I decided to do it in my journal. If you click on the image below I think you should be able to read it but I will post them just in case you can not.
I work in the Snow Avalanche industry
My favorite colours are burgundy and olive green
I love “So You Think You Can Dance”
I snore quieter than my poodle
I am a tool girl, I take after my dad
I love fresh strawberry pie with a touch of lime, covered in whipped cream
I love horses

I think I will likely work on the 7 side of this spread some more.

Happy 4th of July to my American cousins, cheers Patti

Ginko Girl

A 8x8" canvas I am working on. Is it done? Hmmm I dunno.
Ginko prints are from my tree.
