Amber Moon

It was magical! I sat out on the patio night before last, it was a warm clear night and the sun had just gone down. The stars were starting to sparkle and then this huge amber globe started to peek over the horizon right in front of me. Wow. I was just mesmerized! I just sat there and enjoyed the moment. I love the evening when things quiet down and slow down. After a time I got up and stretched and put on some music and went back outside and did yoga in the moonlight. Turning towards the house I saw my perfect silhouette on the wall of our house. I couldn't resist dancing in the moonlight with myself. :) I ended staying out there for hours . . . sigh I just love how the night sky is that incredible colour of deep blue almost black and yet you can see the silhouettes of the trees so perfectly against it. I tried to capture that blue in my journal and created this spread to remember the magic of that night.
Today I was reading an article in Somerset Studio on Wabi-Sabi. It was so appropriate to read it just after this experience. It is Japanese for enjoying the moment, the beauty and appreciation of things not permanent or perfect. A really interesting article. Its the March/April 2006 issue if you want to read it. Especially for those type A personalities. You know who you are! LOL !!!

My Gargoye Journal

This is my fabulous Gargoyle Journal by Keith!
Keith is a friend of Tracy Moore and makes awesome leather journals with watercolour pages that stand up to lots of use and abuse. I got mine last year at Artfest and have if over half full already. Leo is the first page and fitting as I am a Leo.

One of my favorite pages.

Sea Urchin Close Ups

Wow, this Urchin sure cleans up nice! I rinsed it off and took some shots with my macro lens. It is more fascinating the closer you look and I love how the mauve colour is drawn out with adding water. Vera Kewl!!!

Beach Treasure

It amazing how much you see if you just slow down and take your time to look around. We spent an entire morning on this small rocky beach and had a fabulous time. This sea anenome was almost hidden from view in the seaweed between the rocks and the same with this sea urchin.
Every where you look treasure!

Lots of little crabs and the most interesting shapes and patterns of seeweed.

Celtic Goddess Mail Art

After seeing a call for Mail Art locally I figured I better submit something. I thought I would do something a little different. This is watercoloured tag in the shape of an evening gown. How divine! :) She is going postal tomorrow. Cheers Patti
