The ByHand Bunny Challenge

This Royal Bunny, Princess Roxanne has the gift of laying golden eggs!
This is for the Tuesday ByHand Challenge. This weeks challenge was to use this template of a bunny and go forth and create with it. I made mine about 6 inches long and collaged on some papers and added the grungeboard flourish and a brass crown for the princess. I am not sure if I will add her to this Journal or I have this other one that I am tempted to use. Hmmmmmm . . .

Paradise Found

The start to this page was inspired by Suzi Blu. I wanted to include an accordion page. I also wanted to incorporate soft blue and greens. I used acrylics to start with white and blue and green painting with my favorite tool, the credit card.
The added accordion page already had the watercolour of the strawberries on the inside and on the outside I added acrylics to match the rest of my spread.
From my colour palette I found items in my piles of ephemera that seemed to fit, an abandoned watercolour of a Calla lily, me in my garden and me at 5 years old on a family vacation.

Paradise is many things to different people and I am sure at different stages of your life you would give lots of different answers as well. My patio and garden are one of my paradises. Paradises, I feel blessed to have many of. :)

An angel for Brenda

It is amazing how many people can be touched by just one individual. I didn't know Brenda well but she had such a warm and inviting vibe that you could feel just being near her. She was very special indeed and gone far too soon. :( We will miss her.

Cirque du Soliel is coming to town!

I would love to get tickets but I wonder if I am too late already. I must go check and see! I would be so cool to see it live.
This image was from an add in the Newspaper and so were the flowering plants. I used acrylic paint and oil pastels and love how the background came out. The sun was out ALL day today! Oh it was nice!!! And warm enough to sit out and soak up some rays while I was journaling and enjoying my cupa joe. :)

This one is also a blend of oil pastels and acrylic paint. I just love the way you can smoosh them around. I used my grungeboard wings to transport my angel and Heath to worlds beyond. So sad to say goodbye so soon.

More playing with Grungeboard. Man it is Kewl Stuff! I stamped and then beeswaxed on a bunch of ephemera namely the dictionary pages. Later alligator.

One more time. . .

I added beeswax and some red candle wax too, Oh and the tab too. But thats it I'm done now for sure. I don't know if the beeswax shows up much digitally but it does in person. tudes Pattio

I played with my new toys from Quietfire Designs, Grungeboard is very cool! I got the letters and the shapes and used the some letters and fourishes here along with Suzannes stamped flourishes.

Journaling my Art out!

It has been so gray and dull here in Victoria. I am feeling the need for a little sunshine to brighten up the days. I am trying to stay upbeat but somedays its a bit of a challenge. My girlfriend came over last night and we visited and painted and had a great time! This is what I did. She looks a little sad.
This is Ms Penny Rae of sunshine and she is definitley more colourful! and she has a huge heart (made from a painted Ginko leaf) Love the fishnet stockings!!!

Mod Maude is too cool for words! I am alternating my portraits between watercolours and acrylics. Not sure if I have a favorite yet, needs more experimentation I would say.

Sweet Nancy's is a new clothing store in town. I thought it was such a great add. Thought the dots went with the pearl necklace. I must check out this store!

I definitely notice the influence of Suzi Blue in some my faces. :)

Jessica has a hot date! LOL!

Till next time . . . Cheerio

Arabian Nights

Her name is Miranda. :)
I have to make more of these. I call them tags. They are made of sturdy watercolour paper and painted with gesso and acrylic paints. I really like the way they turned out. I want a whole herd of them. :) This one if for my girlfriends birthday. She has arabians. Cheerio
