Time to start a new journal

This is my new cover on my latest journal. This is a Hemp watercolour journal by Green Field Paper. I really like these journals as they have very sturdy pages for watercolours or paints and are very reasonably priced. I was inspired by Kellie to use my hands. LOL! I started with a base of black Gesso with watercolour crayons and then white paint for the hand. I then coloured the hands with Golden's Fluid acrylic paints and stamped gold images over top. I am very happy with the result.

Live Long and Prosper

The hazards of the job is getting your hands dirty. Hee hee hee! This is after I pressed my white painted hand on the crayoned cover. I think as much crayon came off on my hand as white paint went on to the cover. :)

Gothic Arches Swap

I have joined a Gothic Arches swap where once a month you make 2 pages and forward to a member of the group. I am going to try and make 3 and keep one each month to make my Fat Book extra fat and also to have a sample of what I made each person. This first month I made a very textured background with Gesso and painted it with ochre acrylic and walnut ink. I love gnarly textures. :) This is my keeper, the man himself Shakespeare.

Photoshop Beaches

I took a Photoshop CS2 level one class yesterday and it was awesome! I learned a lot. I have already been trying the new techniques in my own photos at home. This is the beach with details of what we saw there in the rocks. Photoshop ROCKS!

Art Studio Update

I am having my 1st toast on my new deck. It's off my new art studio addition. The deck is almost 12' x 12' and has a nice pastoral views. I am loving the extra space for summer. Keiko is also a big fan of the deck as it is a superb look out. :)
This is looking back at my studio door. The door faces east and gets the morning sun. The sun hits the corner with the table I'm sitting at most of the day. I can't wait to do some art out there. ;) Cheers Pattio

Strathcona Park Adventure

My friend Mike and I went to visit Niko in Comox to go bike riding. We drove to Campbell River and then inland to Strathcona Park. It is a beautiful park. It was raining in the morning so we went for a few short hikes instead of riding. We saw some gorgeous waterfalls, and 3 black bears.
This is Myra falls and it really roars and seems like a magical place! It is almost like you are in a painting . . .

Upper Myra Falls

Lady Falls

It stopped raining around noon and we got rollin. We rode 110km out to Gold River and back. What fabulous roads for riding, we had a great time and did we work up an appetite! Not to mention the fact that I slept like a log. LOL!

The next day the clouds parted and we decided to go for an easy recovery ride and saw the sights around Comox.
Yeehaw! What fun!

Colour outside the lines

The very last page in my second hemp water colour journal.
