New Journal Cover

Its not stitched together yet. I am still working out some logistics on how to reinforce the spine. The spine is made of canvas and I think I will add an extra piece to the inside so it is 3 layers of the sturdy canvas thick where it will be stitched. My good friend Kellie and I made the paper together out of plain brown craft paper. I wanted to make a journal with a canvas spine so I could allow for more bulk as my journals end up really fat!

OOOOH! I love it, Patti! Now I wish I'd left more room on the side to try the canvas too. That's an awesome idea.

This is a beautiful cover; love the patterns, colors. The canvas binding is wonderful with it.

Hi Patti, thanks from dropping my blog!

Your artwork is wonderful and I simly LOVE your handmade sketchbooks. They are truly awesome. I'm really into art journaling myself these days. I too love the book, "Artists' Journals and Sketchbooks" by Lynne Perrella. I've owned it for a few years now and always find it inspiring. I recently bought a new book called "1000 Artist Journal Pages" by Dawn DeVries Sokol - page after page of inspiration and ideas!!

Very cool that we work in the same building! You, Kellie and I should meet for coffee one day and talk art - ha.
