Don't get me wrong I love my sewing machine but it doesn't even do zig-zag stitches! I have been thinking of investing in a new machine. I have been so out of touch with the sewing world that I don't know where to even shop for one in town anymore. Can you help make a suggestion? I would love to be able to sew regular weight fabrics as well as canvas and use heavier thread. I am curious as to what a new machine could do for me. I hear there are lots that can program some cool embroidery but I don't know if I would use this feature much. Any recommendations very appreciated!Thanks

patti, i'd love to know what you find out about a machine.... i'd also like a new one, although i'll probably buy a used one. the one i have stopped doing zig zag!! that's my favorite stitch! xo

I used to sew a lot but have cut way back. I have a Bernina that I have had for over 20 years and I LOVE it. It even sews through leather. It has done anything I have asked of it and I really should take better care of her...so I would highly recommend a Bernina.

This picture reminds me of my moms antique sewing machine she had from her mother. I used to play with it when I was little pushing the petal up and down and watching the needle following the same pattern...
I do have a sewing machine... but I only know how to do one stitch so unfortunately I can't help you too much... sorry.
